KISANY: A PROJECT THAT WEAVES HOPE
Since its founding in 2002, Kisany has been weaving dreams. What started as a solidarity response to the eruption of Mount Nyiragongo in the Democratic Republic of Congo has evolved into a pioneering model of social enterprise. Kisany’s embroiderers, women from disadvantaged communities in Congo and Rwanda, have found in artisanal embroidery a tool to build a sustainable future.
For over 20 years, Kisany has provided training, employment, and financial independence to more than 200 women. Each stitch reflects the collective effort to bring stability, education, and opportunities to entire communities. Beyond its artisanal work, the project has launched social programs such as microloans and sustainable plantations benefiting hundreds of families.
“Creating a world where dignified work is accessible to all” is the motto that drives Kisany. Through collaborations with high-quality suppliers like Libeco (Belgian linen) and Lysdrap (luxury cotton), the brand ensures that each piece is not only beautiful but also durable, ethical, and profoundly meaningful.
