The Meier duo, creative directors of Jil Sander, continue to play with the archetypes of women’s and men’s fashion, developing collections that encourage evolution and the desire for change with refined cuts, contrasts and attention to detail.
PURE, SCULPTURAL AND DEFINED FORMS
A light, elegant and disruptive collection that eludes tradition, combining references and elements that explore the possibilities that arise from fusing tailoring with technical, feminine with masculine and ready to wear with haute couture.
The SS24 collection reinterprets classic garments such as coats, dresses, tunics and trench coats in today’s polished and elevated language. The focus is on long, empire-cut evening dresses in solid colours, fitted tops and flared, flowing skirts, couture cuts in purple-brown cotton poplin. Pieces loaded with details such as fine, rectangular paillettes covering fitted tops and long dresses. And the new tailoring that draws a silhouette with bermuda shorts and high-waisted trousers that are combined with boxy jackets with graphic shapes, also present in a series of long tunics.
SOLID COLOURS AND EXCEPTIONAL MATERIALS
As for the mainly uniform colour palette, it underlines the references to sartorial archetypes present in the collection, with the intention of turning the ordinary upside down and elevating it. Shades of white, cream, purple-brown, dark blue and black are complemented by others such as sand, light olive green, taupe, greyish blue and stone. On the other hand, vibrant pink, intense green, lemon yellow and orange bring the maximum expression to the collection.
The diversity and exceptional quality of the materials used in Jil Sander’s collections always play a key role: cotton, silk, English embroidery, Italian and Japanese wool, fluid and light fabrics. Movement and body are key, comfort is never compromised.
IMPECCABLE AND SOPHISTICATED ACCESSORIES
In terms of accessories, we see exaggerated steel and zirconia jewellery that adds lightness and a touch of pop. The brand’s iconic bags such as the Cannolo, with its cylindrical silhouette, the Coin shoulder bag and a new series of Vertigo bowling bags, made with spiral leather straps, are all included. The Goji pillow bag, with its soft, square shapes, adds texture and tactility. In the footwear collection, men’s shoes and loafers with sturdy leather soles complete the silhouette in a pragmatic way, while women’s boots, with pointed or square toes, accentuate the glamorous side of the collection.
