ESSENTIAL GASTRONOMY IDEAS FOR CELEBRATING PRIDE

July, 6, 2022

A very special week is coming to Madrid and the Galería Canalejas Food Hall is ready for it. To celebrate Pride, the restaurants at this place-to-be have come up with some unique ideas to be enjoyed during Pride Week.

Fully aware of the high temperatures in the capital at the moment, the authentic Italian gelateria, Amorino, is offering a cool way to combat the heat with three exclusive and limited edition summer flavours: mandarin and cherry, blueberries and açaï, and orange and ginger. Head on over to discover more about these summer delights.

At Le Petit Dim Sum, they propose a toast with their Purple Queen cocktail, a Yanmei mixture based on fruit, lemon vodka and rose tea. Speaking of cocktails, the rice dish restaurant at the Galería Canalejas Food Hall, St. James, has an extensive list of these fantastic drinks, including Belleza y Espinas, a refreshing medium drink that is sweet on the tongue but with a slight hint of bitter.

19.86 by Rubén Arnanz has raised the simple dessert to another level: a recipe experience that requires diners to first perfume their hands with a product created from the aroma of the ingredients in the dish when cooked. Finger licking good!

In turn, the French Ostras Sorlut has launched a great offer of oysters, wine and champagne. Chef Quique Cerro has been inspired by the elements of nature to create Air, Earth, Water and Fire; four recipes that pair this restaurant’s star ingredient.

But there’s more: besides celebrating Pride indoors, Galería Canalejas is doing the same outdoors for the whole world to see. Until 10 July, the historic façade of this building will be illuminated every night in the colours of the rainbow. A visual spectacle that can be enjoyed between 22:00 and 01:00.

Bring a friend, your partner or your family to the Galería Canalejas Food Hall to enjoy a break from your schedule while exploring everything there is to do in the centre of Madrid over these few days.

Open every day at Calle Alcalá 12.
